Thirteen killed in tornadoes across Oklahoma and Kansas yesterday; several big, long-lived tornadoes touched down.
The conditions that created yesterday's tornado outbreak are still present, having moved to the east and now centered over the Mississippi River. Expect more of the same today, only now Little Rock, Memphis, St. Louis, Louisville, and Evansville,IN are under the gun. The threat today for Missouri, northeastern Arkansas, southern Illinois and western Kentucky is as high as it was for Oklahoma yesterday.
A "Particularly Dangerous Situation" tornado watch has been issued for Missouri and southern Illinois, including St. Louis, Springfield, Paducah, Evansville, Bowling Green, and Louisville. Another "PDS" watch is currently being considered UPDATE: has been issued for Arkansas, Tennessee, and Mississippi, including Little Rock, Memphis, and Jackson.
The first warnings are already up; the storms have already started.
